The following is a recent email inquiry from
a potential client:
When you say,
"optimization" what do you mean? Will my business be on the
first page or maybe the top three? Where and to whom would send letters
to? Would you give me a little more incite. |
And our response:
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
has 2 objectives:
1) Get your site indexed by (included in) search engines
2) Get your site to rank higher than your competitors' sites for your
appropriate key phrases
Once these objectives are accomplished your site will draw more relevant
traffic. For example, do your want your site to rank high for your business
name or would the phrase 'Los Angeles Sports Rehabilitation' or 'Los
Angeles Personal Trainer' bring more relevant traffic to your site? The
answer is the latter because people who do not know you will search for
the latter. I think it's safe to assume the primary purpose of your website
is to create new clients. Your business name will still bring up your
site because it's a unique name.
Once we have optimized your site to it's greatest potential, your actual
ranking position will be determined by the individual search engines
and their secret algorithms. For example, if your site is optimized equally
to your primary competitor's site, which site ranks higher will most
likely be determined by who has more one-way inbound links. Our Search
Engine Maintenance service ($34.95/month) includes the tools necessary
to help you increase one-way inbound links. Do not confuse this with
link exchange programs, those are now considered spam by search engines
and will decrease your site's ranking.
Accomplishing these objectives for your web site would require at minimum
the $99.00 one time fee for us to apply the proper key phrase optimization
to your site (or give instructions to your webmaster) plus a minimum
of 6 months of the $34.95/month Search Engine Maintenance Service. You
can view the details of these services on this page under 'Required Fees'.
I say at minimum in the paragraph above because some clients' web sites
are in highly competitive industries whose competitors are knowledgeable
about proper web page optimization. This is unlikely to apply in your
case because your are targeting such a small geographic market (Los Angeles
vs. United States). After about 6 months of work for you we will know
for sure if additional SEO techniques will be necessary to increase your
site's ranking. You can view the additional services on this page as
well.
Lastly, there are no letters to send, only directories to submit your
site to. The monthly maintenance service will help direct you to the
appropriate directories. |
